Third Mainland Bridge
If you are in Nigeria or other African countries, you surely must have heard of this bridge. The Third Mainland Bridge is the longest bridge in Africa and the longest of three bridges in Lagos, Nigeria. This fascinating bridge which connects the mainland to the Lagos Island starts at Owonronshoki and finishes at the Adeniji Adele Interchange on Lagos Island. This bridge which measures around 11.8km was built by Julius Berger Nigeria and was opened in 1990 by then President Ibrahim Babangida.
New Afrika Shrine
The New Afrika Shrine is a reconstruction of the original Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s African Shrine, which was burnt down in 1977. The shrine which is an entertainment and fun arena us located at 1, NERDC road, off Hakeem Balogun street, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. The shrine is adorned with several pictures of the African Highlife icon and is open from 6 pm to 1 am on Thursdays to Sundays. Fela’s sons, Femi Kuti and Seun Kuti perform on every Thursday and every Last Saturday of the month respectively.
Mind you; the shrine is notorious for the consumption of Indian hemp, marijuana, and other drugs without caution though palm wine and various snacks are available for visitors during live music performances.
Nigerian National Museum
The Nigerian National Museum located at Awolowo Road, opposite the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos Island is the perfect exposition of the Nigerian history and diverse cultural heritage. The museum was constructed in 1957 and showcases Nigerian works of art dating from the era before independence till date. The museum narrates the story of the country over the years.
Some of the arts in the museum include contemporary arts such as Nok Terracottas, Benin brasses amongst others. A significant historical monument you will find there is the bullet-ridden car in which Late General Murtala Mohammed was assassinated in, in 1976.
The National Theatre
Since we are on to National treasures, let’s discuss the National Theatre which was constructed in 1976. The National Theatre is a cultural landmark, architectural masterpiece and a tourist attraction that has stood the test of time. The theatre is in Iganmu Road, Load, Nigeria and houses both ancient and modern works of arts.
Lekki Leisure Lake
Lekki Leisure Lake is one of the exciting places to visit for real out space fun in Lekki, Lagos, an area housing most of the serviced apartments in Lagos. The lake open from 12 pm to 10 pm on weekends and public holidays and is the perfect place to have a fun day with your spouse, family, friends, and colleagues. Some of the adventurous activities include jet skiing, quad biking, zip lining, etc. Though open all through the year, the best time of the year to visit the fun home is during the dry season.
The Elegushi beach is a private beach owned by the Elegushi Royal Family which is currently led by His Majesty, Alayeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi. The is located off Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ikate, Lagos and is the most popular beach in Lagos. If you’re looking for an ideal destination for social gatherings, parties, picnics, etc., you need to visit this beach.
The Palm Shopping Complex
The Palm Shopping Complex is located at No 1, BIS way, Lekki, Lagos and is the second largest shopping mall in Nigeria as of present. In the mall, you’ll see international brands like Sony, KFC, Nike, Hugo Boss, and numerous others, providing you with an international standard shopping experience. Some of the several outlets include electronic stores, accessories shops, hairdressing beauty saloons, gift shops, sports accessories, fragrance stores amongst others.
The complex also houses The Genesis Deluxe Cinemas which is located on the upper floor, showing both indigenous and international movies.
Hard rock Café
The Hard Rock Care is one of the best hangout spots in Lagos because of its mouth-watering menu and other exciting qualities. The Café which is located at Plot No 3 and 4, Block XVI, Oniru Estate, near the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island is particularly known for offering delicious American dishes handled by world-class chefs.

Lekki Conservation Centre
If you’re a lover of plants and animals and nature conservation, this is a place to visit. The Nigerian Conservation Foundation manages the Lekki Conservation Centre, and the centre has a large area of plants and wetlands and wildlife animals like exotic birds, crocodiles, monkeys, and other endangered species. However, to see these animals, you have to visit early in the morning of late in the evening.
Do you like the nightlife or enjoy clubbing, club Quilox is the place for you. Admittedly, you have heard of the place which is an elite club regularly visited by celebrities and socialites. Owned by Shina Peller, the club opens from 10 pm to 5 am on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and from 10 pm to 4.30am on Sundays.
The club is located at 873 Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Lagos Nigeria and you don’t have to be worried about accommodation as there are numerous short let apartments in Lagos.
